Ted Scartz is Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Blue Bird Corporation. He also serves as Corporate Secretary for the company. He leads all aspects of Blue Bird's Legal function, drawing on his broad expertise in legal management, corporate governance, SEC reporting, and governmental relations, as well as commercial contracts and litigation.
Ted is an accomplished, over 25-year year veteran of the corporate legal profession. He joined Blue Bird from The Aaron's Company, where he served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. At Aaron’s, he worked in the direct-to-consumer financial regulatory space. In addition, he gained extensive experience with Aaron’s retail corporate and franchise owned stores providing guidance in employment law, litigation, and general counseling. Previously, Ted was employed by the former parent company, Aaron’s, Inc., as General Counsel to the Aaron’s Sales & Lease Division. Prior to Aaron’s, Ted worked in the manufacturing space as Division Lead Counsel at Siemens Corporation. Ted also contributed to the success of prominent top law firms in the Atlanta Metropolitan area supporting commercial litigation practices.
Ted holds a J.D. from the University of Georgia and a B.A. in Political Science from Wake Forest University, graduating cum laude from both institutions.
