Your Total Cost of Ownership Solution

In today’s economy, budget is a key factor in bus choice. By calculating a total cost of ownership (TCO) decision-makers can select vehicles with confidence. TCO calculations must take into account initial purchase price, fuel costs, maintenance costs and projected lifespan.

School districts looking for new fleet technology that helps them stretch tight budgets will find the Micro Bird MB-II ideal. Because it doesn’t require thousands of dollars of additional equipment to run cleanly, maintenance costs are low. Smooth, quiet engine operation, easily accessible and affordable parts, and greater availability of gasoline mechanics simplify the maintenance process of your fleet, saving you time and money.

You can count on our high-quality vehicles for the long run. All Micro Bird bus bodies come with a 5-year limited warranty.

At Blue Bird, we take safety very seriously. We specify heavy-gauge steel side-impact barriers to reinforce our Micro Bird buses. Integrated child seats and three-point lap and shoulder seat belts are available for enhanced safety and versatility. To maximize a driver’s view of students boarding the bus, we developed a “more view” window near the MB-II’s fully glassed entry door.

We build safety into the Micro Bird, from the one-piece galvanized steel roof bows to superior LED external lights. Double action, energy-absorbing body mounting blocks prevent frame collapse. The special needs Micro Bird MB-II offers a single-leaf wheelchair door that meets FMVSS/CMVSS 206 standards.

Blue Bird ranks quality and durability of paramount importance. Our attention to detail creates buses that deliver consistent performance year after year.

Built on Ford, Chevrolet or GMC chassis, the MB-II’s aerodynamic styling makes space for wider seating, a large aisle, better compartmentalization and improved knee clearance. Energy-absorbing body mounting blocks absorb road vibration and reduce noise transfer for a smooth and quiet ride. The system also eliminates the need to tighten body bolts periodically.

Aluminum side-body panels create a bus that’s inexpensive to repair and built to last. Superior insulation throughout the bus absorbs road noise and helps prevent condensation and corrosion.

Fueled by gasoline, the MB-II meets stringent emissions standards and eliminates the need for diesel exhaust fluid, diesel particulate filters and regeneration. We make Micro Bird buses easy to maintain with our superior technical training programs.

Our long list of options includes air conditioning, electronic sleeping children monitoring system, wheelchair lift, vandal lock system and audio / public address systems.
