Blue Bird is proud to introduce the safety addition of the Mobileye collision avoidance system. The advanced system scans the roadway for obstacles to help drivers avoid potential dangers.

Similar to passenger vehicles, the Mobileye collision avoidance sends a series of audible and visual alerts that help reduce the risk of collisions by deterring bad behaviors such as distracted driving through a series of visual and audio queues.

Using the Vision Sensor™ that is mounted on the windshield, this system detects and evaluates objects that are close to the bus, as well as gives speed limit alerts to the driver in audible form. The system also gives a visual “safe following distance” through headway monitoring. and visually through the systems through the EyeWatch™ module.

While other systems take control of the vehicle in certain situations, Mobileye’s collision avoidance system gives full control to the driver and has proven to greatly reduce collisions when properly used.
